Machinima

Poid Mahovlich pointed me over to Second Life composer Dizzy Banjo’s blog, where Dizzy documents the short machinima “Ephemeral”, a haunting audio/visual tale co-written by Dizzy and Poid, filmed on the Princeton University sim (designed by Poid), and using apparently all Botanical Green Fir trees for landscaping.  It is a very beautiful film, and I am honored to even have been mentioned in the credits!

Nicely done machinima with an extremely epic soundtrack, all that is missing is a *movie voice* and would have thought it was a trailer for 2008’s summer blockbuster!

My friend Eshi Otawara showed me this extremely touching tribute to her passed husband that she made in Straylight. Be sure to read her note under the video *wipes tear*

Sevent Uriza sent me a link to this video she made featuring dramatic fly-through footage of amazing quality! Included in the various sims represented in the video is our very own Straylight ^^ Beautiful soundtrack on this one!

I was turned on to this beautiful video by Orpheus Kurosawa, who produced a video within Second Life for a german non profit organization that tries to save the real world. I love the sound effects and movement, and of course… the message.

If you like it, be sure to send them an IM inworld!

CSI: NY episode 405 “Down the Rabbit Hole” airing 10/24/2007.

From the CBS website “The CSIs must rely [on] an unlikly source when investigating the murder of a young woman.” It turns out the source is Second Life! In the course of a murder investigation, Detective Taylor has to enter Second Life to track down clues to the murder of young woman. In 2 of the virtual world scenes, I found Straylight!

Straylight Pilgrim RamessesIII Pharaoh took it upon himself to make a machinima flythrough of Straylight.  Amazing work!
